STUDENT GUIDE TO INDIAN HILL CONCERT SERIES
IHMS students and their families receive free or discounted admission to our professional concert series,
including the Orchestra of Indian Hill!

We serve students of all ages and levels. The doors of the Music School are open to all, from infants to older adults, from absolute beginners to aspiring professionals. We offer early childhood classes for newborns through 8 years of age, utilizing curriculum which fosters a lifelong love of music, and which stimulates development of cognitive, social and motor skills. A variety of beginning classes for children help them to discover and choose an instrument, and to learn that instrument one-on-one or in a fun group setting. Adults are encouraged to take up a new instrument, or to rediscover a musical passion forgotten since childhood. We also offer ensemble and performance opportunities for adults through our Big Band, Celtic Sessions, jazz bands, a cappella choir, chamber groups, and musical theater and opera workshops.

Programs are offered year-round with a series of special summer music festivals, created and run by our talented faculty. Young people ages 8-18 can choose SummerDayMusic, a two-week program focusing on core curriculum for each instrument plus elective classes and ensembles to encourage collaboration, and SummerDayMusicalTheater, a four-week course in stage craft culminating in the performance of a major musical. Adults meet on Wednesday evenings for SummerNightMusic, a seven week festival of chamber music and jazz ensembles.

All students receive a variety of benefits, from free masterclasses, workshops and recitals to free or discounted concert tickets. We seek to foster the whole musician and supplement theory and technical training with instruction in good practice habits, healthy physical conditioning and stress-free performance. We further seek to offer our wealth of programs to anyone regardless of means. Our generous Scholarship Fund is available for those who would be unable to study music without financial assistance.

Registration is ongoing for Private Lessons.

Group Lessons, Classes, Ensembles and other programs begin on various dates during the Fall and Spring Terms.
