Group Piano (Kindergarten - Grade 1)
Tuition: 4 sessions $92

Time to Begin (Kindergarten) - 12:00-1:00 pm, 4:30-5:30 pm
Music Tree (Grade 1) - 1:00-2:00 pm, 5:30-6:30 pm
An introduction to the Music Tree curriculum. Teacher Alisa Bucchiere personally trained with series authors Frances Clark and Louise Goss. This class includes creative keyboard exploration, basic music skills and theory, ensemble playing and composition. Students should be prepared to practice at least 20 minutes per day.
Materials (not included in tuition) can be purchased at The Minor Chord in Acton. Piano or 61-note, touch-sensitive keyboard required for home practice.
Beginning Recorder (Grade 1 & up)
Tuition: 6 sessions $130

Schedule: Tuesdays July 8-August 12, 1:00-1:45 pm
Children love to have an instrument of their own, and recorder is a good place to start. This class teaches the basic of the instrument and note reading. Students will learn to play duets and other ensembles together. Soprano recorder and daily home practice are required.
Family Recorder (Ages 6 & up)
Tuition: 6 sessions $135 (1 adult/1 child)

Intergenerational recorder class for parents, grandparents or other adult caregivers and one or more children. Learn to make beautiful music together as a family! Class begins with the basics of good tone production and careful fingering while learning to read notes and play with correct rhythm. We will learn at least five notes and be able to play several songs and duets.
Recorder Ensembles (Ages 6 & up)

Advanced Beginner Recorder Ensemble (all ages)
Schedule: Tuesdays July 8-August 12, 10:30-11:15 am
So, you have learned the basics of recorder playing and are able to read and play music within a range of about 1-1/2 octaves. This intergenerational ensemble class will provide the opportunity to use and improve your skills on C (soprano or tenor) or F (sopranino, alto or bass) recorder. We will enjoy playing music from a variety of periods and styles from medieval to modern in up to 4 parts.
Intermediate Recorder Ensemble (all ages)
Schedule: Tuesdays July 8-August 12, 11:30-12:15 pm
This intergenerational group is for experienced ensemble players on soprano, alto, tenor and/or bass recorders. Good intonation and music reading skills encompassing the full range of the instrument are expected. We will explore music from a wide range of periods and styles in 3 to 6 or more parts.
Beginning Flute (Ages 9 & up)
Tuition: 6 sessions $140

Schedule: Tuesdays July 8-August 12, 5:00-5:45 pm
This is the perfect introductory class for students wanting to try out the flute. Learn the basics of flute technique, and note reading and playing with correct rhythm. Play simple melodies, songs and duets by the final class.
A student flute will be provided free of charge for this course.
Beginning Guitar (Ages 7 - adult)
Tuition: 6 semi-private sessions $140 per student
Instructor: Eric Baldwin
Two students will share a 60 minute lesson, and learn together the basics of guitar playing: chords, strumming, fingerpicking and melodic lines. Play and sing along with popular songs from the folk and rock repertory. No previous musical background required. Introduction to note reading is included. Schedule is set on an individual basis.
Students should provide their own acoustic or electric guitar.
Harp Ensembles (Ages 8 & up)
Tuition: 8 sessions $150

Schedule: 8 weeks - July 8-August 26
Beginning Harp Ensemble - Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 pm
A group playing experience for beginning level harpists of all ages. Learn the basics of ensemble playing through fun and simple rounds and folk songs in two or more parts. Open to pedal and lever harp students.
Students may be required to bring their own instrument. One year of lessons is required, or permission of instructor.
Advanced Harp Ensemble - Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 pm
For intermediate through advanced level harpists, teens through adult. Sessions are designed to hone ensemble playing skills through challenging but enjoyable suites and pieces in multiple parts. Open to students of the pedal or lever harp.
Musicians may be required to bring their own instrument.
Music Theory (Ages 5 - adult)
Tuition: based on Private Lesson Rates
$32/30 min, $46/45 min, $59/60 min
$28/45 semi-pvt, $34/60 min semi-pvt (per student)

Music Theory will be available as Private or Semi-Private Lessons for the summer. Sessions cover all aspects of traditional music theory with an emphasis on composition, ear-training and technology. Students work on individual computers equipped with professional music software to compose, play musical games and learn the basics of theory and notation.
