Student Internships

Outstanding professional educational experience and training in the areas of advertising, public relations, marketing and fundraising in a non-profit arts environment. Interns are individually supervised by department staff and involved in day-to-day operations, plus assigned clerical and administrative tasks, such as information market research, filing, database management, and material distribution. Intern special projects may include writing press releases, planning and coordination of special events, developing material for the web site, creating promotional offers, and proofreading. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, page layout tools preferred.

Patron Services Associate

Position: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Salary: Entry-level
Revised Hours: Tuesday through Friday noon - 8 pm; Saturday 9 am - 5 pm

This position reports to the Director of Education, and works with the staff, faculty, volunteers, patrons and school families. The person in this position is the key customer service representative for the Music School and the Box Office manager for performances. The Patron Services Associate will perform a wide variety of tasks to support the entire organization (Education, Performance an Outreach).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service/Office Reception: Provide quality customer service to support the mission of Indian Hill Music and our community of students, families, faculty and staff. Front desk reception; answer and direct phone calls, voice mails and general emails; respond to general inquiries about the organization; provide facility tours for prospective students. Maintain working knowledge of all concerts, ancillary events, programming, venue particulars, guest artists.
Receive registrations, deposits and payments, and assist school families in completing and understanding forms, and all other registration tasks as needed . Respond to requests for gift certificates and vouchers, create documents and maintain records.

Data Management/Mailings: Data entry and maintenance of database info for the music school, mail and email lists, and ability to extract targeted lists for mailings; preparation of bulk mailings and all general mailings as needed; work with Director of Volunteers to secure volunteers for large projects; prepare targeted mailings to communities, groups and organizations, and maintain mailing lists; sort and distribute mail to staff; proof materials for organizational events and programs.

Box Office/Performance: Process single ticket, subscription and event sales from all sources; monitor and respond to ticket line voice mail; revise ticket line phone messages and building signage; run ticket sales reports; prepare front-of-house needs and supplies for Orchestra of Indian Hill concerts; set up box office and work OIH concerts, and other performances as needed.

Clerical & Other Administrative Tasks: Prepare bank deposits; distribute payroll checks; assist Director of Finance with accounts payable process and file paid invoices; run reports for daily credit card transactions; log and track staff vacation and personal days. Maintain general information files and binders, sign-up sheets for workshops, and internal lists of staff, faculty, Board and other important contacts; coordinate Blackman Hall booking process and calendar; take reservations for Bach’s Lunch concert series and manage seating chart. Coordinate scheduling of recitals and recital accompanists, compile and create recital programs; reserve studio space and provide updates to staff/faculty.
Order, track inventory and organize office supplies, equipment supplies, postage, cleaning supplies; communicate with business machines vendors for repairs and maintenance of equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience. Basic knowledge of music and instruments. Proven record of exemplary customer service, professional interpersonal and communication skills, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Access, Excel, Publisher and Word. Must be organized, detail oriented, efficient and accurate. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and to handle a busy front desk environment.

Flute Teacher

Position: Part time
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Ideal candidate should have a degree in music (a music education degree is preferred) and teaching experience, and be comfortable teaching children through adults - beginner through advanced levels - in a variety of musical styles. Reliable transportation required as school is not accessible by public transportation. This studio opening is on Thursdays, with the option to expand to Fridays and Saturdays if needed.

Artistic Director - Regional Children’s Chorus

Position: Part-time
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Indian Hill Music School is seeking an energetic and talented Artistic Director to help create and direct a comprehensive Regional Children's Choral Program, slated to begin in September 2010. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Music, working knowledge of Kodaly techniques, excellent conducting skills and thorough knowledge of appropriate choral repertoire for ages 8-18. Prior experience working with children's voices preferred. Program will develop musicianship, vocal and ensemble skills for beginning to advanced singers, ages 8-18. Part-time administrative duties will begin in spring 2010 and will continue through summer 2010.
