"(Ms. Muresanu's) musical luster, melting lyricism, and colorful conception made her performance especially admirable.” — Los Angeles Times
Notes from Maestro Hangen: "All the works on this program are French, and each one represents a different musical period. The Sea (La Mer) is quintessential Debussy, a perfect example of late 19th century Impressionism, while Franck’s famous Symphony in D minor is from the Romantic tradition. Dynamic violinist Irina Muresanu (who gave an outstanding concert at Kalliroscope Gallery last season) will join us for two widely different works by the contemporary Dutilleux and the 18th century Chevalier de Saint-Georges (also known as Joseph Boulogne, the first classical composer of African ancestry).”
